Dr. Jan has dedicated her career to children with Cerebral Palsy — and she knows this journey from the inside. Born three months prematurely, Dr. Jan has spastic diplegia herself and uses a cane to walk. She works alongside every family on their journey towards living their best.

Dr. Jan founded the Pediatric Neurology CP Center at Washington University School of Medicine in 1998 — treating more than 2,000 patients from across the US and world. She testified before Congress for CP research funding and founded Camp Independence, an adaptive summer sports program that continues today.

In 2007 she was named Outstanding Missourian of the Year. In 2014, St. Louis Mayor proclaimed October 1st "Dr. Jan Day". She now leads 1CP Place here in the DFW community.

Our family's connection
Our youngest daughter — one of our twin girls — was diagnosed with spastic diplegia Cerebral Palsy, the same condition Dr. Jan has. As a family of six with four kids (our oldest is 8, our middle son is 5, and our twin girls are 2), finding the right doctor was everything.

Dr. Jan didn't just give us answers — she gave us hope and understanding that only someone who has truly lived with CP can offer. This fundraiser is our way of giving back.
